Is Your Child Losing Marks on Oral — and You Don't Know Why?

Most children who underperform in PSLE Oral aren't bad speakers. They were never taught the specific techniques examiners look for — and nobody told their parents either.

Does Any of This Sound Familiar?

These are the four most common oral problems parents describe to us — and every single one is fixable.

If you nodded at any of these, keep reading.

Reads well but can't get AL1 or AL2

Your child reads fluently at home — yet the oral marks don't reflect it. The problem isn't reading ability. It's not knowing what examiners are actually listening for.

Gives surface-level answers and stops

When asked to share an opinion, your child says one sentence and goes quiet. They don't know how to structure a response that goes beyond the obvious.

No idea how to 'Predict the Questions'

The stimulus-based format requires children to anticipate what the examiner will ask. Most children have never been taught this — and it shows in their marks.

Runs out of things to say mid-conversation

Spoken Interaction demands that your child keeps the conversation going. Without a system for extending answers, children trail off — and lose marks at exactly the wrong moment.

The Real Cost of Inaction

PSLE Oral is worth 40 marks. A difference of one grade band — from AL2 to AL1 — can be the difference between the school your child wants and the school they settle for.

The gap most children leave on the table:

Children who read well but never practise structured oral responses often score 2–6 marks below their true ability — not because they aren't capable, but because they weren't shown what "excellent" sounds like. That gap compounds over every Spoken Interaction question in the exam.

And unlike written components, oral fluency cannot be crammed. It is built through deliberate, guided practice — the kind that most school timetables simply don't have room for.

Our Solution

A for Oral Masterclass: The 3-Hour Fix for Every Problem Above

This is not a revision class. It is a targeted, skill-by-skill intervention built around exactly what PSLE examiners mark — delivered in a small group of at most 3 students so every child gets real speaking time and real feedback.

In one 3-hour session, your child will leave with the Predict the Questions method, practised reading expression, structured response techniques, and the confidence that comes from actually doing it — not just hearing about it.

What We Cover

What Happens in the 3 Hours

Every minute is intentional. Six 30-minute blocks, each targeting a specific pain point identified above.

1
0:00 – 0:30

Parent Testimonials

What Parents Say

"Alissa came home so much more confident after just one session. She was actually excited to practise her oral reading aloud for us — something she never did before. The coach's feedback was specific and actionable, not generic at all."

Ms Thu Anh

Parent of Alissa

"I enrolled both my twins and they had very different starting points. The trainer managed to give targeted feedback to each of them individually despite being in the same group. Both improved noticeably in their reading expression and their spoken responses."

Ms Lisa

Parent of Junyi & Junyang

"Michael struggled most with extending his answers — he'd give one-line replies and go quiet. After learning the 4-step predict method, he started giving proper structured responses. His P6 teacher even commented that his oral participation in class had improved."

Ms Ong

Parent of Michael
